Bible: New International Version
This of course is our number 1 choice. It is God's words to us. It contains the meaning of life and the meaning of death, who God is and why his Son Jesus died on a cross. (*****)
John Blanchard: Is God Past His Sell-by Date?
"Blanchard's strength is that he has been an unbeliever himself and can address all the objections of the atheist. The book is punctuated by the personal experiences of a number of people who came to faith themselves." From the online review, amazon.co.uk (****)
Distinctives
"This book translates the important messages of the bible into modern day terms and assosciates them with today's society, and our own personal lives. A brilliant help for anyone who has recently become a Christian and wants to know how to live.." from the online review. (****)
Dale Ralph Davis: The Wisdom and the Folly
"This is a superbly easy-to-read book on 1 Kings. There is clear explanation, and there is excellent illustration, with the central theme of each section being plainly set out. But the thing I liked best was the incisive application. It is not possible to read this book and feel unchallenged."
From the online review (*****)
Louis Berkhof : Systematic Theology
Excellent presentation of Reformed Theology. The best presentation of Systematic Theology in a single volume available. If we are to properly understand God's Word, we must make our study in a systematic manner. From online review (*****)
Mark Dever: 9 Marks of a Healthy Church
Mark Dever doesn't set out to give an exhaustive list of the characteristics of a good church but picks 9 areas of weakness and says why he thinks these are important.
Using Christ as our example we are seeking to love God more, each other and our neighbours in North Watford.
Welcome to our home online. As you move around you should get an idea of what we are about as a church. In all that we do we desire to have God at the very heart. A big emphasis for us is the preaching and teaching of the Bible. Through the study of this book we discover that we can have a relationship with Almighty God because of the death and resurrection of his son the Lord Jesus Christ.
Each Sunday we gather together to learn more about this and how we should then live our lives in the light of this information. We are a diverse group of people of different ages and nationalities. What unites us is the joy of worshiping the God who created us and the universe in which we live.
We would like to invite you to join with us on Sunday mornings at 11.00am. Feel free to email, telephone or even request a visit from me.
