    Bible: New International Version
This of course is our number 1 choice. It is God's words to us. It contains the meaning of life and the meaning of death, who God is and why his Son Jesus died on a cross. (*****)

  • John Blanchard: Is God Past His Sell-by Date?

John Blanchard: Is God Past His Sell-by Date?
"Blanchard's strength is that he has been an unbeliever himself and can address all the objections of the atheist. The book is punctuated by the personal experiences of a number of people who came to faith themselves." From the online review, amazon.co.uk (****)

  • : Distinctives

    Distinctives
"This book translates the important messages of the bible into modern day terms and assosciates them with today's society, and our own personal lives. A brilliant help for anyone who has recently become a Christian and wants to know how to live.." from the online review. (****)

  • Dale Ralph Davis: The Wisdom and the Folly

Dale Ralph Davis: The Wisdom and the Folly
"This is a superbly easy-to-read book on 1 Kings. There is clear explanation, and there is excellent illustration, with the central theme of each section being plainly set out. But the thing I liked best was the incisive application. It is not possible to read this book and feel unchallenged." From the online review (*****)

  • Louis Berkhof : Systematic Theology

    Louis Berkhof : Systematic Theology
Excellent presentation of Reformed Theology. The best presentation of Systematic Theology in a single volume available. If we are to properly understand God's Word, we must make our study in a systematic manner. From online review (*****)

  • Mark Dever: 9 Marks of a Healthy Church

Mark Dever: 9 Marks of a Healthy Church
Mark Dever doesn't set out to give an exhaustive list of the characteristics of a good church but picks 9 areas of weakness and says why he thinks these are important.

Your Children's Carol Service sounds so refreshing. This Christmas Eve, my nieces were part of a cute little play at church that seemed to have nothing to do with the coming of Jesus. It was all quite adorable, but even my atheist nephew looked over at me and said, "Where's the Christmas story?" Christmas is about the only time he attends church. He looked strangely hungry to hear the Bible.
